Forever Machine

I grew to the size
of you and your

shadows. Now
and then my eyes

on your eyes,
a wonder would

appear. A flotilla
of new ruins

following each
star to the shore

of us. Our feet
began turning

the world around.
We couldn’t stop,

even in the face
of all the lakes

and what we saw inside
the windows.

We are any and
everything in gleam,

and it’s tiring
taking over. The sky

in the city
looking lousy again,

we can almost
hear it. A paradise

buzzing
in every machine.
