A STEAMBOAT’S BOILER BURSTS.

THE CAPTAIN KILLED AND THE ENGINEER
BADLY SCALDED.
MAY 24, 1885

The excursion steamer started yesterday
for a trip across Onondaga Lake

two sharp reports were heard
the steamer instantly enveloped

in clouds of steam
The passengers heard a shout

saw a form fling itself
out of the cloud

Capt. Kinne was found writhing
suffocating steam

struggling to get out
scalded head to foot

In places the skin
rolled itself up

looked as if he had been
flayed alive
