Write with words and new phrases      build a sentence:

“we”       as in “we had come to many indecisions.”

Now write: “meaning” “we” “mother” “father” “laughter” “a dark basement.” 

Ma’am may I?     We didn’t understand the meaning of our parents’ laughter 
in the dark basement. 

Ma’am may I?     Our father has said the dark cellar is like our mother. 

Ma’am may I?     Our mother always says:    Don’t be afraid     fear is the brother of death

and death    can come from contaminated greens     and from    the throat of our brother’s gun. 
Then they laugh and then laughter again drowns.

And we don’t understand the meaning of this laughter. 
We’re always afraid 
and continue to pray    for death’s 
foot not to reach our dark basement.
